Holding advanced degrees in Educational Administration and Supervision from Bowling Green State University, and enriched by a deep-rooted understanding of economics and sociology, Dr. Barberena has significantly contributed to the development of policies and programs that benefit youth and adults in Monterey County. Her leadership roles span across prestigious boards and organizations, including the Pacific Grove Library Friends and Foundation, the Monterey Peninsula Rotary Club, and Chabot College, where she served as Chief Executive Officer, managing over 10,000 full-time students and overseeing a substantial budget.
